Kathmandu, Nepal: A meeting held between the top leaders of the major three political parties- Nepali Congress, CPN UML and the CPN Maoist Center- ended inconclusively on Tuesday after the main opposition party UML did not agreed on the government's decision to increase the number of local-level units in 12 Terai districts.
Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal had called a meeting between the top leaders of the three major parties at his official residence to seek consensus on the government decision to increase the number of the local units in Terai districts.
The UML denied agreeing on the government proposal blaming the government for increasing the number of local levels against constitution in between the first and second round elections.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, DPM duo Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar and Krishna Bahadur Mahara, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, leader Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, CPN (UML) chair KP Sharma Oli, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Prasad Poudel and among others were present.
