Kathmandu, Nepal: The office-bearers of the Election Commission (EC) called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at her Office, Shital Niwas on Thursday to appraise the recent activities of the EC.
The EC delegation led by Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav reached at the office of the president to inform about the activities though the existing provision does not allow it to make public the election results before holding the national assembly elections.
During the meeting, the delegation had said that they have been feeling pressure from the leftist alliance demanding to make public the results of House of Representatives elections under proportional category.
As the elections of the national assembly is delayed the left alliance, particularly the UML has been labeling blame to the EC with protest programs demanding early announcement of the elections results to pave the way for formation of a new government.
