Kathmandu, Nepal: The International Buddhist Conference, which is also known as Dorje Sugden kicks off in Kathmandu from Thursday.
The three daylong conferences is organized by the Nepal National Dorje Sugden Society. Dorje Sugden is the clan deity of the Gelukpa order of the Mahayani sect of Buddhism.
According to the organizer, about eighty delegates from 20 countries have participated in the conference.
It is said that the conference will hold discussions on a wide range of issues including ideologically unifying the Buddhists of various sects and promoting the Buddhist literature, precepts, and philosophy at the international level.
