Kathmandu, Nepal: a member of the legislative parliament has warned to raise arms against the state if his community’s demands are not addressed immediately.

Madhesi People’s Rights Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D) lawmaker Yogendra Chaudhari made such a warning of an armed revolt if the demands of Tharu communities are not fulfilled.

If the government did not fulfill the demands of the Tharu community, we will be compelled to raise the arms, Chaudhary said while speaking at the Parliament on Tuesday.

Referring to Tikapur incident, where seven police personnel including SSP were killed, Chaudhary warned the government not to repeat such an incident again by ignoring the demands of the Tharu community.
