Nawalparasi, Nepal: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Dr Shashank Koirala has been elected as the member of the House of Representatives from Nawalpur Constituency-1 with comfortable margin.
Dr Koirala obtained 34,784 votes while his close contender Bhabishwor Parajuli of the CPN Maoist Centre received just 30,523 votes.
Likewise, Nepali Congress candidate Devendra Raj Kandel has also won the elections for the House of Representatives from Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta) West Constituency -2.
Kandel garnered 34,130 votes while Ghanashyam Yadav of the CPN Maoist Centre got just 23,898 votes.
