Kathmandu, Nepal, March 28, 2022: The 10th General Convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has concluded in Kathmandu on Monday electing a new executive committee under the leadership of three presidents. The anonymously elected three presidents are Kul Acharya, Rabina Thapa and Dr Badri KC.
The jumbo new committee with three presidents has been elected with the aim to save the NRNA from the possible split. The NRNA had reached even at the verge of dissolution due to the wrangling among the leaders.
The NRNA amended its statute to make provisions to elect three presidents. As per the new provision, three presidents will chair the NRNA for a period of six months each as NRNA has 18 months of tenure remaining.
Dr Hemraj Sharma, Jay Prakash Gurung, Govinda Shrestha, Mahesh Shrestha, Naraya Acharya, Narendra Bhatt, RK Sharma, Bhusan Ghimire, DB Chhetri, Dharmaraj Adhikari and Durga Acharya have been elected to vice presidents. Dr Bishnu Maya Pariyar and Yashmin Begum have been elected as women vice-presidents while Roshan Thapa, Himal Gurung and Raj Regmi have been elected as youth vice- president.
In the post of General Secretary, Keshav Poudel and Gauriraj Joshi, have been elected. Similarly, Dr Devi Basnet, Ganesh KC, Ram Sharan Sinkhada, Narayan Kafle, Om Gurung and Binay Adhikari have been elected in the post of Deputy-General Secretary.
Abhiman Singh Basnet, Pramod Sitaula, Govinda Gautam, Hom Pandey, Rajan Tripathi, Chiranjivi Ghimire, Gangadhar Gautam, Khagendra Neupane, Pravin Gurung and Sankar Khadka have been elected in the post of Secretary while Dr Alili Pokhrel and Tika Gurung have been elected in the post of Secretary from the women category.
Phanindramani Pokhrel, Lok Dhakal and Sunil Shah have been elected in the post of Treasurer while Krishna Timalsina, Lal KC, Naraya Subedi, Tanka Gaire, Deepak Sharma, Hom Gautam, Milan Chantyal and Yagya Subedi have been elected in the post of Joint-Treasurer. Similarly, Yamuna Bhattarai, Yogita Thapa and Amrita Thapa have been elected in post of Joint-Treasurer from woman cluster.
Rabindra Khadka and Abdul Wazeed have been elected in the post of youth coordinator while Sangita Marhattha and Bimmla Sapkota have been elected in the post of women coordinator. Similarly, Som Sapkota and Shiva Baduwal have been elected in the post of Spokesperson
