Kathmandu, Nepal, October 17, 2023: The World Conference and 11th International Convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) kicks off in Kathmandu. President Ramchandra Poudel is scheduled to inaugurate the conference amid a function today.
The conference, which is scheduled to last on October 20, will be concluded by the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal amid a function in Kathmandu, the NRNA organizing committee has said.
The 11th convention, which is organized coinciding the 20th anniversary of NRNA, has set a slogan as 'Nepali for Nepalese' while the theme is set as 'Knowledge and transformation is the basis of prosperity'.
Special session on World Knowledge Conference, Youth Conference, Women's Conference, Foreign Employment and Social Security Fund, Citizenship Act and Voting Rights are scheduled to hold in the conference.
Four aspirants are competing for the post of president of NRNA for the next term.
The current working committee chairperson duo Badri KC and Ravina Thapa and vice chairperson duo Mahesh Shrestha and RK Sharma have already registered their candidacy for the post of chairperson.
Similarly, 18 persons have registered their candidacy for the post of 6 vice presidents.
According to the organizers, 4,227 delegates from 59 countries will participate in this convention.
