Guwahati : The Assam forest department on Friday had rescued a 10-feet long king cobra from the Chotajalenga village area in Assam's Cachar district.
According to the reports, some villagers of Chotajalenga had spotted the king cobra and informed forest officials and a team of forest department and Assam University had reached the area and recovered the 10-feet long king cobra weighing about 7.30 kilograms.
Later, the big snake was safely released in the Borail wildlife sanctuary.
Assam forest department has opened a help line number (0361-2332830) and appealed to the people to assist the forest department in rescue of any wildlife at the time of flood or otherwise.
