Guwahati, June 22 : At least 30 people including women and children fell sick and hospitalized after consuming Prasad chickpea (boot-mah) leading to food poisoning in Assam’s river island district Majuli on Thursday night.
The incident was took place at Mowamari village in Upper Majuli area, where the people fell sick after consuming birthday party Prasad.
At least 30 people including 7 children and 21 women fell sick and immediately they have rushed to Ratanpur Miri mini health centre.
Later the patients were shifted to Sri Sri Pitambar Deva Goswami sub-divisional civil hospital at Garmur.
According to the reports, few women and children were in very serious condition and doctors are monitoring them.
Meanwhile, the district administration has ordered the doctors of Garmur civil hospital to take adequate measures.
