Guwahati, May 18 : At least 9 people were killed and two others injured in four separate road mishaps in Assam in past 24 hours.
According to the reports, three people were killed while a speedy truck mowed down them at National Highway 31 (C) at Gossaigaon area in Kokrajhar district last night.
Local people said that, the mishap took place at the area when the persons, employee of a petrol pump returned to their home.
The deceased persons were identified as Robinson Das Hebrom, Robinson Hebrom and Supriya Murmu.
On the other hand, four people were died in another road mishap at Kamalpur area near Baihata Chariali in Kamrup (Rural) district last night.
The incident happened at the area, when a Wagon-R vehicle hit a roadside parked truck.
Two people were died on spot and four others had received serious injuries.
The injured persons had rushed to Guwahati Medical College Hospital, where two had succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased persons were identified as Andhi Boro, Merina Boro, Manmohan Boro and Liza Boro.
In separate incident, an older woman was died while a speedy vehicle hit her at North Guwahati area and another person died at Khetri area in Kamrup (Metro) district.
