Guwahati : A local court of Guwahati on Friday had sent the arrested Special Superintendent of Police (CID) to two-day police custody, who allegedly leaked the information of the investigation process of the All Assam Students Union (AASU) office in Silapathar on March 6 through RTI. 
 
Earlier, the crime branch of Guwahati city police had arrested SSP (CID) Dr N Rajamarthandan on Thursday night after confirmed his involvement and violation the government order.
 
The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Kamrup (Metro) district had sent the top police cop after crime branch had appreared him before the court.
 
Earlier, the state government had suspended N Rajamarthandan after he provided investigation process information of the Silapathar case to the secretary of Nikhil Bharat Bangali Udbastu Samanvay Samiti (NIBBUSS) through RTI. 
 
The Assam government had already notified that, CID organization is exempted from providing information under RTI Act as per government notification no PLA.384/2005/54 dated March 8, 2006 and no details of investigation can be divulged to anyone without the permission of the competent court.
 
Following leaking the investigation information, a case (311/2017) was registered against Rajamarthandan after a top official of CID had filed an FIR at Paltan Bazar.
 
Meanwhile, Assam DGP Mukesh Sahay said that, he (Rajamarthandan) made guilty and law will take action.
