Guwahati : Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Tuesday warned the BJP and it’s president Amit Shah not to play politics with the National Register of Citizens (NRC), the updating process is going on in Assam.
During a press conference held in Guwahati on Tuesday, APCC spokesperson Apurba Bhattacharya said that, BJP is playing politics with the NRC.
“The Registrar General of India (RGI) said that, it is a draft published on July 30, not the final NRC, as some people names excluded in the list. So it is not to be said that, they are Bangladeshis. But, BJP president Amit Shah said in parliament that, there are 40 lakh illegal Bangladeshi migrants. How he made this statement. BJP is playing Hindu-Bengali politics and we strongly condemn it,” Apurba Bhattacharya said.

“BJP always said that, they are against the illegal Bangladeshi. If you are against the illegal Bangladeshi, then how maximum Indian citizens have been excluded in the complete draft NRC,” Apurba Bhattacharya said.
“BJP was involved in a planned political conspiracy for protecting illegal hindu migrants in Assam as they are planning to give citizenship to the illegal hindu migrants from Bangladesh,” Apurba Bhattacharya said.
