Guwahati, June 17 : Assam police will newly appoint 5000 various posts soon.
 
Director General of Assam police Home Guards Pradeep Kumar on Saturday said that, the state government has already sanctioned 5000 posts including 17 numbers Sub-Inspector, 1541 numbers UB constable, 3455 numbers AB constable.
 
'After government sanctioned, Assam police will start process to appoint these posts soon,' DG Pradeep Kumar said.
 
The top Assam cops said that, at present around 1200 posts are lying vacant in Assam police.
 
'79 posts rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), 154 numbers rank of Inspector are among the vacant posts,' Pradeep Kumar said.
