Guwahati: The troops of Assam Rifles had seized heroin worth Rs 92 lakh in Manipur's Tengnoupal district.
 
Based on intelligence input, the troops of Assam Rifles had launched search operation at Khudengthabi check post on Sunday evening and intercepted a Maruti van driven by a person named Md. Rafik Khan.
 
After checking the vehicle, the Assam Rifles team had recovered 19 packets of eroin weighing about 230 grams worth approximately Rs 92 lakh from the vehicle.
 
 The security personnel had also apprehended the driver of the vehicle.
 
The nabbed person along with seizure contraband drugs were handed over to Moreh police station for further investigation.
 
The detained individual and the recovered items have been handed over to Moreh Police Station for further investigation.
 
It is to be mentioned that, the security forces have seized contraband drugs worth over Rs 100 crore from Moreh area – the international bordering town in Manipur in last two years.
