Guwahati: Security forces had apprehended a hardcore militant of banned NSCN (K) in Nagaland’s Mon district.
Based on specific input regarding presence of a NSCN (K) militant, the Mon battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) had launched operation at Mon town and apprehended the militant.
The nabbed militant was identified as Peter Konyak and security personnel had recovered one point 22mm pistol, two rounds live ammunition.
The apprehendee was handed over to Mon police station for further investigation.
