Guwahati, December 22 : At least two person were apprehended by the Border Security Force ( BSF) in Meghalaya's South Garo Hills on Wednesday evening and seized Rs 29 lakh cash in denominations of Rs 2000, Rs 500 and Rs 100.
A top official of BSF said that they were allegedly taking over Rs 29 lakh in new currency notes from Assam to the border village of Gasuapara in South Garo Hills.
Both the accused are residents of Mankachar in South Salmara district of Assam and were taking the money to a coal exporter.
The apprehended persons were identified as Nasib Miya and Bilal Hossain.
Later they were handed over to Dalu police.
