Guwahati, January 23 : Living up to the ethos and traditions of the Indian Army, Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare (CIJW) School, a premier institute of the Indian Army in training Counter Terrorism Operations, took a humble initiative towards nation building by training youth of the state of Mizoram thereby generating employment opportunities. 

Presently the school is conducting a seven days course for 12 candidates from Kolasib district. 

Kohima based Defence PRO Colonel Chiranjeet Konwer said that, the candidates would be facing a written exam on January 28 last for which the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare (CIJW) School, is accommodating, conducting classes and preparing them on various topics and subjects for the exam.

Subjects being taught include mathematics, science and general knowledge along with physical training aspects. Regular mock tests are being conducted for the students to prepare them for the challenges ahead. Major General MS Ghura, Vishisht Seva Medal, Commandant of Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare (CIJW) School, interacted with the youths and encouraged them to work hard for the exam and extended all assistance required for the same.

“I am confident that this training being provided by Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare (CIJW) School, will help me crack the recruitment tests and help me serve my country with pride,” one of the candidate undergoing pre recruitment training said. 

The elite Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare (CIJW) School, Institution was also responsible for the successful selection of 19 candidates for the Assam Regiment of the Indian Army in the year 2016-17. 

It is not uncommon to see young Mizo boys training in the School under the supervision of highly qualified instructors which has been immensely appreciated by the people of Mizoram.
