Guwahati, October 24 : Security forces on Tuesday had apprehended five hardcore militants including three NSCN-K militants in upper Assam along with Nagaland border, officials said.
According to the reports, based on intelligence input about presence of a militant group, army and Assam police had jointly launched operation at Sonari area along with Assam-Nagaland border and nabbed three hardcore militants belonging to the banned outfit NSCN-K.
Security personnel had recovered three pistols and several rounds live ammunition in possession from them.
The nabbed militants were identified as Anyei Angham, Pongai Methutaho and Yonga Konyak.
On the other hand, security personnel had apprehended two militants of NSCN-unification from Charaideo area along with Nagaland border.
Two pistols and five rounds ammunition have been recovered in possession
from them.
