Guwahati: The memorial of of Martyr Havildar Hangpan Dada, Ashok Chakra ( Posthomous) was inaugurated by Major General Gajinder Singh, GOC 2 Mountain Division on Saturday in Dada's native village at Borduria , Khonsa, Arunachal Pradesh.
The day also marked the second martyrdom anniversary of Hangpan Dada.
The wreath laying was done at the memorial by GOC 2 Mountain Division, Chasen Dada ( wife of Hangpan Dada) , Commander 117 Mountain Brigade and local MLA of Khonsa in presence of other dignitaries and villagers.
Havildar Hagpan Dada made the supreme sacrifice beyond the call of duty by eliminating four hardcore terrorist on 26 May, 2016 in J&K.
He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra in recognition to his act of valour and sacrifice.
