KATHMANDU, Nov 22: The third annual conference and workshop of the 'Hydro Empowerment Network' of micro hydro power project entrepreneurs of South and South East Asia started here today. 
 
The four-day conference organized by Nepal Microhydro Power Development Association (NMHDA) was inaugurated by Minister for Population and Environment, Jayadev Joshi. 
 
Around 50 micro hydro power entrepreneurs from 12 countries including India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Burma, the Philippines and Thailand are taking part in the conference.
 
On the occasion, Minister Joshi said Nepal's hydro power sector has benefited from foreign financial assistance and stressed on uniformity through exchange of technology and management capabilities between all the countries in the micro hydro power network. RSS
