Imphal, April 6 : After Mirabai chanu another Manipuri girl Sanjita Chanu Khumukcham won gold in the Commonwealth Games in weightlifting in the 53kg category.
For the proud moment, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh today announced Rs 15 lakh each to Mairabai Chanu and Sanjita Chanu.
Congratulating to the Manipuri girls, who clinched two gold medals for the nation in the 2018 Commonwealth Games held in Queensland, Australia in the same event, Manipur CM said that, proud of you for making Manipur proud and India proud, both of you really a great Manipuri Meitei ningols.
The Manipur CM announced Rs 15 lakh each to both Manipuri girls from the state government.
Sanjita Chanu, who lifted a total of 192kg to win her second Commonwealth Games gold medal.
