Shillong : In a shocking incident that, a three week old baby died after the baby was thrown in a water full bucket by a masked man in Meghalaya’s capital city Shillong on June 19 morning.

The incident was took place at Mission Compound, Shillong on the wee hours of Tuesday at around 2.30 am.

According to the reports, the masked man had forcefully entered a house situated in Mission compound area and first injured the mother and snatched the baby from her.

The family members have called up police and thought that the masked man kidnapped the baby.

After a thorough search in the compound, the family members had found the baby in a water full bucket.

East Khasi Hills district Superintendent of Police Davis R Marak said that, the masked man had drowned the baby in the bucket full of water, which was found in the top floor of the house.

The top Meghalaya cop said that, when the police reached the area, the baby was still breathing but died at Shillong civil hospital.

The masked man had fled from the area after committing crime and police later arrested the masked man who is suspected to have committed the crime.
