Guwahati, December 3 : At least two army personnel were killed and nine others injured while a militant group of NSCN(K) and ULFA(I) made an ambush on a army convoy in Arunachal Pradesh's Tirap district on Saturday. 
 
It is the second ambush on army convoy by militants in the North East India in two weeks.
 
According to the reports, the militants attack on a convoy of 16th Assam Rifles took place at Thinsa area in Tirap district along the Myanmar border at around 1-45 pm on Saturday.
 
Sources said that at least two army personnel were killed and nine others injured in the militants attack.
 
Arunachal Pradesh's Tirap district is stronghold of Naga militant group NSCN(K).
 
Top army and police officials had rushed to the remote international bordering area and launched massive operation against the militants.

On November 19 last, at least three army personnel were killed and four others injured, while suspected militants of Paresh Baruah led ULFA(I) and NSCN(K) made an ambush on army troops in Assam's Tinsukia district.  
 
The incident took place at Dhekiajaan area inside the Burhi Dihing reserve forest in Digboi-Pengeri road in the Upper Assam district during the army operation against the militant. 
 
In the militants attack two army vehicles were damaged.
 
The deceased security personnel were identified as Multan Singh, Rishipal Singh and Narpada Singh of Kumawun Regiment.
 
The injured army personnel Vikram Chand, Manoj Sing, Satyendra Singh and Virendra Singh had rushed to nearest army hospital at Dinjan.
 
The encounter took place near the same area where one person was killed and two others sustained injuries in an cash van belonging to Pengeri tea estate by suspected ULFA (I) militants on November 16.
