Guwahati, Sep 21 : Union Minister of State of Railways Suresh C Angadi on Saturday reviewed the existing railway services and also ongoing construction works that are going on in Arunachal Pradesh during a meeting with Sanjive Roy, General Manager of N.F. Railway and N.K. Prasad, General Manager(Construction) of N.F. Railway at Naharlagun railway station.
While interacting with media at Naharlagun, Angadi said that safety is the first priority of Indian railways and all endeavors are undertaken to ensure safe running of train.
The Union Minister also informed that on-time train running and cleanliness in railway premises are also given due importance for the benefit of railway passenger. Initiatives taken in these regards are already resulted into significant improvement in both the aspects throughout Indian Railways.
Suresh C Angadi said that completion of all the pending/ongoing projects will be given due importance for early completion as targeted.
"Prime Minister's desire of improvement of connectivity of entire Northeast is being followed upon by the Indian Railways," Angadi said.
Earlier Suresh C Angadi also hold discussion with the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu about various issues connected with the development of railway infrastructure in the state.
Development of tourism in Arunachal Pradesh with the involvement of railways was also discussed during the meeting.
The Union Minister of State of Railways also called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) and discussed about strengthening of railway network and improvement of connectivity in the state for overall economic development and strategic importance of the state.
