Kathmandu, Nepal, April 8, 2020: District Administration Office (DAO) Kathmandu has on Wednesday permitted the Nepal police to keep Sulav Agrawal in custody for another seven days for further investigation.

DAO Kathmandu has made the decision endorsing the demand made by the police to keep him in police custody for further investigation. Agrawal, who is also the vice chairperson of the Shanker Group, was arrested on Tuesday on the charge of selling thermal scanners in excessively high price.

He was alleged of selling the thermal guns, which is useful for detecting body temperature, at Rs 16000, though the exact value of the device stands at Rs 3000-3500.

As per the legal provision, Agrawal would be sentenced for seven years in prison if the allegations leveled against him proved. However, he has been denying the allegation labeled against him.
