Kathmandu, Nepal: Nepali Congress candidates Chiribabu Maharjan and Geeta Satyal have been elected as mayor and deputy-mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City respectively morning.
Nepali Congress mayoral candidate Maharjan received 24642 votes while his nearest contender Byanjankar garnered only 24316 votes. Maharjan has maintained 326 votes lead over CPN-UML candidate Byanjankar.
Likewise, Nepali Congress deputy-mayoral candidate Satyal received 19819 votes while her nearest rival Shova Shakya of Sajha Party received 14240 votes.
