Kathmandu, Nepal: Nepal Press Union (NPU), a trade union of democratic journalists and media workers, has been protesting against the central leadership of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) for unilaterally enrolling new members to influence the election results.
The elections in Tanahun district chapter of the FNJ has been put off due to strong protest of the district chapter of the NPU. The NPH has been launching nationwide protest against the FNJ leadership even padlocking the office to protest the unilateral decision.
As the journalists and media workers loyal to the CPN UML and the CPN Maoist Center had been forging alliance since few years, the democratic journalists and media workers have alleged the FNJ leadership for monopolizing the institution.
