Guwahati, August 20 : Local people of Garigaon area under Jalukbari police station in Assam’s capital city Guwahati on Monday had safely rescued a woman, who drowned in Brahmaputra river.

According to the reports, some people of Garigaon area had spotted a woman floating in the river and informed other persons immediately.

The locals were engaged in rescue operation by using their boats in the Brahmaputra river and rescued the woman.

When the local people had rescued the woman, she was alive and  immediately rushed to hospital in serious condition.

“We have informed that, some people of Garigaon area had spotted a woman in the Brahmaputra river and immediately rushed to the area. The woman was
safely rescued and admitted at hospital in serious condition,” a police
officer of Jalukbari police station said.
