Guwahati : In a shocking incident, an Assam police constable had allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in central Assam’s Nagaon district last night.
The incident was took place at Amsoi police outpost in Nagaon district, where the constable identified as Harjeet Singh committed suicide by shooting himself with a 9mm pistol.
The cause of why the police constable killed himself is yet to know, but his colleagues said that, he was upset since couple of days for some family problems.
Police had not found any suicide note.
Sabita Das, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Nagaon district said that, they were informed that, a police constable deployed at Amsoi police outpost had committed suicide and immediately rushed to the spot and found that, the constable named Harjeet Singh (45 years) committed suicide by shooting himself.
Police has started investigation into the matter.
