Kathmandu, Nepal, March 25: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has given mid-April deadline to the Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav) led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) to join the mainstream peaceful politics by renouncing the violent activities.

‘The government will control all form of violent activities of the CPN if it did not opt the peaceful politics by mid-April,’ Prime Minister Oli said ‘the government is ready to hold talks with the party only if it renounce the violent activities and opt peaceful politics.’

Prime Minister Oli, who is also the co-chairperson of the government head Nepal Communist Party (NCP), set the deadline to the CPN with the urge to end the violent activities while addressing a meeting of the Nepal Communist Party's Parliamentary Party in Kathmandu on Monday.

It would better to the Chand-led group to sit for talks with the government as early as possible by renouncing all forms of violence Prime Minister Oli said adding that such a way will be a good opportunity for the group to join the peaceful mainstream politics.

The government is committed to maintain law and order situation in the country and nobody will be allowed to disturb peace and harmony in the society in any pretext, he said.
