Kathmandu, Nepal, August 4, 2023: A clash erupted in the district jail in Jhapa on Friday against the transfer of the prisoner watchman.
The inmates staged a demonstration by burning tires inside the prison and pelted stones from inside. The police had to use blank to control the chaos.
It is said that after clash was erupted after the prison administration decided to transfer four prisoners to Jhumka prison, along with the prisoner watchman Manoj Lavati.
After the protest of the prisoners, some prisons attempt had attempted to flee way.
Taking advantage of the movement, some prisoners had tried to escape, but after surrounding the prison from all sides and firing a few rounds in the air foiled the attempt to escape.
