Guwahati, September 22 : Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will appear before a local court in Assam in connection with a defamation case filed by RSS on September 29.
Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) spokesman Apurba Bhattacharya on Thursday confirmed it and said that, the Congress vice president will appear before Kamrup Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court on September 29.
Earlier the court summoned to Rahul Gandhi to appear before court in connection with the defamation case filed by RSS.
Rahul Gandhi alleged that the RSS members had stopped his entry into Barpeta Satra (16th century monastery) during his visit to Assam in December last year.
For the remarks of Rahul Gandhi, RSS the ideological mentor of ruling BJP had filed a defamation case against the Congress vice president.
