Guwahati, July 20 : Assam Rifles had arrested a Rohingya in Assam's Cachar district, who was residing illegally since nine years.
The arrested Rohingya has been identified as Alom Hussain Mazumdar.
According to reports, the Rohingya had married a local to acquire PAN card, Voter card and other important documents and he tried to prove himself as an Indian citizen.
A top official of Assam Rifles said that, the arrested person was residing illegally in past nine years.
The Assam Rifles have suspected that the arrested Rohingya might be a spy of some jihadi outfit.
The arrested Rohingya Hussain is a citizen of Rakhatan area in Myanmar.
