 Kathmandu, Nepal, March 28, 2023: Finally, the ruling coalition partners have reached nearer on a power-sharing deal. Final round of meeting between the top leaders of the major coalition partners- Nepali Congress, CPN Maoist Center and the CPN United Socialist held on Monday tentatively finalized the deal. 


It is said that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will expand his Cabinet by Wednesday if not Tuesday by finalizing the power-sharing deal on the basis of the understanding reached among the top leaders of three parties. 

Prime Minister Dahal, on Monday, held discussions over power-sharing deal with the Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (Unified Socialist) chair Madhav Kumar Nepal, at his official resident, Baluwatar.

Prime Minister Dahal has called a meeting for Tuesday afternoon to finalize the power-sharing deal as per the understanding of the meeting. Prime Minister Dahal would include some ministers no later than Wednesday even if he fails to give the Cabinet a full shape his cabinet, a close aide of the Prime Minister Dahal said.

Rounds of formal and informal meeting continued even on Monday made possible to reach nearer on the deal though it is yet to be finalized. However, finalization of names of ministers of those who represent the parties in the government is another crux to settle the differences.    

The meeting of the top leaders of major three parties tentatively finalized the power sharing deal except some things that need to be settled by seating among all the coalition partners, Prime Minister Dahal’s  chief advisor, Haribol Gajurel, said. 

The meeting of the top leaders of major three parties has also agreed to formulate the coalition’s Common Minimum Program (CMP) rightly after the expansion of the cabinet.
