Nagaon (Assam), Sep 28 : Two arms dealer were arrested by security personnel in Assam’s Nagaon district on Thursday night.
Security personnel had recovered illegal arms and ammunition in possession from them.
Based on intelligence report, Nagaon district police and army had jointly launched operation at the Nagaon bypass road area and arrested duo.
A top police official said that, the persons were stayed at a roadside dhaba and tried to sell illegal arms.
The arrested persons were identified as Saidul Islam and Sarjahan Ali and security personnel had recovered a point 22 pistol, a magazine and five rounds live ammunition.
During police investigation, they revealed that, they had purchased the illegal arms from Nagaland’s Dimapur and selling it in various areas in central Assam.
