Guwahati : Security forces had apprehended four hardcore Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) militants in Assam's Cachar district on Thursday.
According to the reports, in reference to Udarband police station case no 146/18 u/s 387/507/511 of IPC and as per information received from one apprehended ZUF militant Njeulekbe Riame alias Avoi, the Cachar district police and 37 Assam Rifles had jointly launched operation at Rangmaijan area under Jirighat police station and nabbed 4 militants of ZUF (Kamson) faction.
The nabbed militants were identified as Haisuive Pame alias Ashui, Agaung Jeme, Azeu Pame and Izohowangbe Pame.
A top official of Assam Rifles said that, one hardcore militant namely Mapa Jemei, 2nd lieutenant of ZUF(Kamson) faction had managed to flee from the area.
Security personnel had recovered one 5.56 HK 33 rifle with 2 nos magazine, 243 nos 5.56mm live ammunition, one 7.65 mm pistol (China made) with three nos 7.65 mm live ammunition, one columbia knife, one smartphone with two SIM cards in possession from them.
