Sonowal orders high level enquiry into the Guwahati boat capsize incident

Guwahati, Sep 5 : Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered a high level enquiry into the tragic incident of boat capsize in Brahmaputra River at Guwahati on Wednesday.

The Assam CM has directed Additional Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.

Sonowal also directed the Additional Chief Secretary to investigate into the reasons responsible for the boat capsize and the factors triggering the mishap and submit report at the earliest.

It is to be mentioned, a machine operated country boat, travelling from Fancy bazaar to Madhyam Khanda ghat in North Guwahati, capsized today.

Expressing deep concern over the tragic incident, Sonowal ordered an enquiry for identifying the reasons for the accident.
