Kathmandu, Nepal, July 19, 2023: The Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has objected to the ongoing debate regarding the reduction of the number of the army terming it as "unseasonable".

Issuing a statement on Wednesday, RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden on Wednesday objected the debate on reducing the number of army.

The "unseasonable" debated is initiated from self-proclaimed intellectuals and responsible leaders of some political parties in a planned manner, Lingden has stated in the statement.

"It is mysterious, unfair and unfortunate to conduct a series of debates about the need to reduce the number of Nepalese army," reads the statement.”

There are many ways to reduce the financial burden of the state but the military organization of any country is formed in view of geopolitical and strategic needs, he said in the statement.
