Guwahati : While Union Home ministry has directed all north eastern states and BSF and other security agencies to keep tight vigil along with India-Bangladesh and India-Myanmar following over 4 lakh Rohingya have fled violence churning through Rakhine state of Myanmar into Bangladesh, a sensational report has came to light that, several Rohingya's had infiltrated into Tripura and Assam in recent times.
The Rohingya's exodus continued into north east India and they were felicitated by some touts and it was revealed by three persons, who were arrested last night from Tripura.
Assam police on Sunday had arrested three touts from Tripura who were facilitated Rohingya people to enter Assam.
Assam police ADGP (Special Branch) Pallav Bhattacharya said that, in connection with apprehension of six Rohingya persons from Churaibari area in Assam's Karimganj district along with Tripura border on August 17 last, a team of Karimganj police had launched operation in the neighbouring state.
'Assam police had arrested the persons from NC Nagar area under Sonamura police station in Sipahijala district with the help of 145 Bn BSF and Tripura police,'Â Bhattacharya said.
The arrested persons were identified as Sahajahan Choudhury, Faruk Mia
Choudhury and Suman Choudhury and they are hailing from NC Nagar area.
During the preliminary interrogation, the arrested touts revealed that, they had provided all arrangement to the Rohingya's to enter north east India by crossing India-Bangladesh border.
Meanwhile, the arrested persons were brought to Karimganj and the officials of Assam police, BSF, SIB, DSB have interrogated them to collect further information.
