Kathmandu, Nepal, March 31, 2022: Two Deputy Inspectors General (DIG) have knocked the door of the Supreme Court (SC) challenging to the government’s decision to promote three DIGs- Basanta Kumar Pant, Dhiraj Pratap Singh and Rabindra Bahadur Dhanuk to the post of Additional Inspector General (AIG).
DIGs duo Ghanshyam Aryal and Prakash Jung Karki moved to the SC on Thursday against the cabinet decision to promote their colleagues in the post of AIG.
They have a claim that existing provisions related to the promotion of the police officials was breached while taking the decision by the government. A Cabinet meeting held on Thursday had decided to promote three DIG into AIG.
