Guwahati, October 5 : A hardcore militant belonging to United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) was arrested by security forces in Manipur's Kakching district on Wednesday, officials said on Thursday.
According to the reports, based on intelligence input, Manipur police had launched operation at Serou Lamkhai area in Kakching district and arrested a self styled sergeant of UKLF identified as Kamkholun Guite.
Security personnel had recovered a 9 mm pistol with a magazine, ammunition in possession from him.
On the other hand, troops of Assam Rifles had recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition which were kept concealed inside the fuel tank of a vehicle near Moreh town along with Myanmar border.
The Assam Rifles troops had recovered one 9 mm Glock pistol, two magazines.
Security personnel also arrested a person in connection with it.
