Kathmandu, Nepal, October 20, 2020: Though the body of the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Gobind BK, the in-charge of the temporary police post set-up at Jugeda of Kailali district, was found, the whereabouts of the Nepal Police constable Ram Bahadur Saud posted at the same post is still unknown.
ASI BK’s body was found with deep cut injuries in Mohana River located about three kilometers away from the temporary police post on Sunday. It is suspected that two policemen would have attacked by a gang of smugglers on Saturday night while they were patrolling in the area to check the growing incidents of smuggling.
It is said that ASI BK led police team had seized goods smuggled into Nepal from India on Thursday and the smugglers had been exerting him pressure not to send the confiscated goods to the District Police Office (DPO). A team of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has already reached at Dhangadhi on Monday to investigate the incident.
Meanwhile, local residents of the area and the relatives as well as neighbors of BK and Saud have staged a protest rally in Dhangadhi on Monday demanding immediate investigation into Saud’s disappearance and killing of BK. ASI BK was the resident of Punarbas in Kanchanpur district while Constable Saud is a permanent resident of Achham district.
