Guwahati, Sep 22 : Assam police have arrested a youth from Assam's Nalbari district, who threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on social media.
Police arrested the youth identified as Lintu Kishore Sarmah from Borbhag area in Nalbari district on Sunday.
According to the reports, in his Facebook post, the arrested youth mentioned that, Himanta Biswa Sarma's death might be during an election meeting in 2021.
"On that day, a huge public rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be held in Assam's Guwahati. The target of the terrorist will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but Himanta Biswa Sarma will die. Himanta's life is now in my hand. If to save the life of Himanta Biswa Sarma then he should give me a job at the office of Nalbari Deputy Commissioner immediately," Lintu Kishore Sarmah said in his Facebook post.
Lintu Kishore Sarmah had posted it on September 15.
Following the post, a person named Samej Uddin had lodged an FIR against Lintu Kishore Sarmah at Nalbari police station and police on Sunday had arrested the accused person.
