Guwahati, June 8 : After a week suspected militants had released the Superintendent Manager of Maijonga tea estate in Assam's Kokrajhar district last night, who was kidnapped at gun point on June 2.
The manager of the tea estate Navin Joshi (50 years) was abducted by an armed militant group from near the Mornoi tea estate under Grahampur area on June 2 evening.
A top police official said that, suspected adivasi militants had released him last night.
Navin Joshi hailing from Delhi was abducted at gun point while he arrived at the location after receiving an information regarding man-power with an assurance that tea garden workers can be arranged.
The top police official said that, investigation is going on into the abduction incident and Joshi is under medical treatment.
Meanwhile, a reliable source said that, surrendered adivasi militants are behind the abduction incident and the militants released the manager with ransom deal.
