Kathmandu, Nepal, October 19, 2021: Bollywood film industry’s renowned actor Akshay Kumar, who has recently announced his new film ‘Gorkha,’ has vows to ‘correct’ the mistakes occurred while carrying Khukri in the recently released poster.

As former Army Officer Major Manik M Jolly pointed out that a traditional khukri is different, Kumar vowed to make correct the mistakes. Akshay Kumar is playing the role of a war hero in the film. 

Major Manik had tweeted to Kumar pointing out that a traditional khukri is different.  ‘Dear Akshay Kumar ji, as an ex Gorkha officer, my thanks to you for making this movie. However, details matter. Kindly get the Khukri right.(sic),’  Manik had stated in his twitter message. 

Responding to the comments pointed out by Major Manik, Akshay Kumar had stated as ‘We’ll take utmost care while filming. I’m very proud and honored to be making Gorkha. Any suggestions to get it closest to reality would be most appreciated.’

The ‘Gorkha’ film is being produced on the basis of the life of Major General Ian Cardozo, a legendary officer of the Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army (5th Gorkha Rifles). Ian Cardozo had fought in the wars of 1962, 1965, and most notably in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. 

The film is directed by National Award winner Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma.
