Kathmandu, Nepal, April 19, 2023: The meeting of the Constitutional Council held on Wednesday to proceed with the appointment of new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court ended inconclusive. 

Though the most of the members representing to the parties in the Constitutional Council had already agreed to appoint the new chief justice, the meeting indeed inconclusively. It is said that the meeting was ended with the decision to appoint chief justice at the earliest. 

Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, Chairman of the National Assembly Timilsina, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Purna Bahadur Khadka and leader of the main opposition party in the House of Representatives (HoR) KP Sharma Oli participated in the meeting.
