Kathmandu, Nepal: The Kathmandu District Court has sentenced two murder convicts of Ranibari murder case slaped with life imprisonment along with property seizure after 14 years on Wednesday.

A single bench of Justice Ramesh Prasad Rijal slapped a life term on Prem Chauhan, 32, of Ramechhap and Mana Raj Gurung of Dolakha along with the confiscation of their property in the Ranibari Murder case.
 
The duo had found involved in the brutal murder of Engineer Hemant Shrestha and his wife Anjali in Ranibari, Kathmandu, on July 15, 2002. The duo had arrested from Samakhusi and Jorpati respectively on March 12, 2015.
 
The duo murdered the Shrestha couple mistakenly as they were hired to Gita Khadka, the landlady of the house in which the Shrestha couple lived. 
 
The Police had filed a murder case stating that the murder convicts were hired to kill Khadka for her alleged involvement of swindling as a manpower agent.
