Kathmandu, Nepal, January 6, 2022: Coronavirus infection cases have gradually been increasing in Nepal though omicron variant is not found to have spread in the country. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) 478 new cases of coronavirus infections recorded from across the country on Thursday. With the addition, nationwide infection tally has advanced to 830480.

Meanwhile,  271 people, who had infected earlier with the virus, have been discharged after getting recovered in the past 24 hours. With the addition, nationwide recovery tally has advanced to 813,447.

Likewise, one more death related to the coronavirus infection has been recorded from across the country in the past 24 hours on Thursday. With the addition, nationwide mortality tally due to the infection of coronavirus has advanced to 11,602.

There are currently 5431 active cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. Of the total active cases, 113 individuals are staying in quarantine facilities.
