Guwahati: Samsun Nahar, a resident of Goroimari area in Assam's Kamrup district is still feared about inclusion his and other family members name in the final National Register of Citizens (NRC), which to be published on August 31.

Samsun Nahar and his other family members name were figured in the draft NRC, which was published last year.

"My and other family member names were included in the draft NRC. But, we are still feared about the final NRC. Despite inclusion of our family members name in the draft NRC, the NRC authority had issued notice us for re-verification," Samsun Nahar said.

Nahar further said that, the NRC authority had issued thousands of re-verification notice to the people whose name appeared in the draft NRC following all verification process.

When less than two weeks are go for the publication of the final National Register of Citizens (NRC), many people are feared about inclusion their names in the final list.

Apart from Samsun Nahar, another person of Goroimari area Sahar Ali, resident of Champupara Pathar village has feared the same.

"Despite inclusion our names in the draft NRC, we were again issued re-verification notice by the NRC authority. We think that, it is a big conspiracy against us," Ali said.

Recently, the NRC authority had issued above 50,000 re-verification notices to the people, especially to the minority communities of the lower Assam districts.

At least four people were killed and many others injured in few road mishaps, when the people went to attend the re-verification process or returned from there.

The complete draft of NRC, containing names of 28,983,677 out of 32,991,384 applicants, was published on July 30 last year.

Around 40.07 lakh people were left out from the complete draft of NRC and nearly 36 lakh people have filed their claims for inclusion their names in the final NRC.

On June 26 last, the NRC authority had published an Additional Draft Exclusion list of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) consisting of 1,02,462 persons.
