Kathmandu, Nepal: The government has presented a 1.315 trillion rupees budget for the fiscal budget 2018/19. 

Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada presented the first ever federal budget of the country at the joint session of the federal parliament at parliamentary building, New Baneshowr, on Tuesday. 

The budget presented for the fiscal year 2018/19 is Rs 37 billion larger than the budget of the current fiscal year’s budget.

The government aims to collect Rs 800 billion from revenues in the upcoming fiscal year  while Rs 202 billion from foreign aid. The aim of the government for both- internal revenue and foreign aid seems ambitious.  

According to finance minister khatiwada 56.41 billion has been allocated for the health sector, Rs 1.34 billion for education science and technology sector, Rs 2. 04 billion for the youth and sports sector and Rs 1.88 billion has been allocated for women, children and senior citizens.

The main opposition party Nepali Congress and other independent economists have criticized the budget for not basing on the reality of the national economy. 

The Nepali Congress leader Dr. Minendra Rijal termed the budget as a day dream of the incumbent government.  

The day dream that used to distribute by the government is reflected again, through the budget today, Dr. Rijal said while commenting about the budget to the media persons.
